Color exercise is tough

Oh man these color exercises are brutal. When I showed my watercolor book to Nathan, one of his comment was that I need to pay attention to color temperature, otherwise my warms and colds mix together and I get mud. And these exercises really exposed that. I need to think carefully and be aware of color temperature and don't mix them at random. Keep practicing!

Hi Kate. I think that he made a good point. I had not realized that at first about these color studies and some of the ones from the previous posts.
Have you done any along the lines of his suggestions?

Well, yes. But 'wanting' is different than 'happening'. :-) I realized that it's gonna take a long while for me to sort this out. I'm hoping for that light at the end of the tunnel!

Hi Kate: I spent my morning coffee time in front of the computer, found your blog/website and I think your work is fabulous. I see the Harry Potter lover in your very imaginative 3d works. Have a great day!

Thanks Theresa, I do also love to discover more artists through internet. Yay internet!

Thanks Ian, I've been tracking your blog for awhile, I love your lunch time paintings and hearing about the hardship of plein air. Are you friends with bagel and scott too? I think scott is moving to NY for awhile.
